A story told slowly

Come sit with me. I have a story for you.

I'm Freya Verandi. I tell fictional stories about what happens between people: the things we want, the things we misunderstand, the things we finally say out loud, and who we become when someone gives us room to answer honestly.

A little about me

I'm Freya.

I collect stories about people finding their way toward one another without disappearing inside someone else's expectations.

My stories are fiction. The people aren't real, even when something about them feels familiar. I tell them slowly, usually from somewhere you might want to stay awhile: across a table, walking through a city, beside a window after dark.

I'm interested in the moment before someone answers. The question someone almost doesn't ask. The misunderstanding that could become distance but becomes conversation instead.

Mostly, I'm interested in what happens when people are given enough room to be themselves.

People are more interesting when they get to be themselves.
